(POLL) 45% say they view China as enemy of US

The following is from Rasmussen Reports.

A recent Rasmussen Reports survey reveals that 45% of likely US voters say they view China as an enemy of the United States, a significant increase from 18% who said the same in January 2017. Just 7% of voters say they consider China an ally, while 43% place it somewhere between being an ally and an enemy.

The survey also finds that 52% of voters say they believe the US ignores abuses by the Chinese government because of its economic power, with only 16% saying they disagree. Opinions about the future of US-China relations are divided: 31% say they expect the relationship to improve, 30% say they think it will worsen, and 29% say they believe it will stay the same.

Partisan differences emerge in the findings. Fifty-six percent (56%) of Republicans, 41% of Democrats, and 37% of unaffiliated voters say they consider China an enemy of the US. Similarly, 55% of Republicans, 48% of Democrats, and 51% of unaffiliated voters say they think the US government looks the other way on China’s abuses due to economic considerations.

The survey highlights notable demographic trends. Older voters aged 65 and above are the most likely to say they see China as an enemy (64%), compared to 43% of voters aged 40-64 and 34% of voters under 40.

The survey of 1,220 likely voters was conducted on January 16 and 19-20, 2025, with a margin of error of +/- 3 percentage points and a 95% confidence level.

  1. China iz th enemi o th world, speshli Taiwan, ēvn Russia wich iz mākin a hūj mistāk in alīnin w China. If we alow China 2 grō, th konsequensez wil b an oligarki that wil last 4 senturiz. Goodby frēdm.

  2. We should be wary of the insidious infiltration tactics used by the CCP–especially in the wake of disastrous ESG/DEI mandates which have become a basis for corporate culture worldwide. Re: “The Confucius Institute”–
“Confucius Institutes are Chinese government-sponsored organizations offering Chinese-language, cultural, and historical programming at the primary, secondary, and university levels worldwide. CIs are also a key element in China’s “united front,” a network of groups and key individuals that seek to co-opt and neutralize sources of potential opposition to the policies and legitimacy of the Chinese Communist Party.” Pardon me CCP, for not wanting to jump on the social-credit-score (slave) bandwagon; however, you have successfully stolen advanced US tech via your spies at our universities- and increased your military ranks at an alarming rate, and if you choose to control the microchip HQ (Taiwan)…we need to have a serious talk.

I believe it may be more of an Invitation than Infiltration. Both 0bama and Biden have placed ChiComs in high level government positions. Clinton did some as well.
Same as with Moslems. Hariss had 35 on her campaign committee.

Enemy? Don’t we owe China trillions of dollars? I maybe be wrong but for whatever reason, America apparently needs an enemy. It’s either China, Russia or someone else. At 63 if I looked up every time we were told over decades the sky is falling. I’d have a serious crick in my neck!

  5. I can’t help be say, it’s our own dam fault. Look at the many American companies who basically said, screw the USA and the citizens. Let’s manufacture in China, all that cheap labor. So what if we have to divulge trade secrets and manufacturing technology look at how cheap we can sell our products. China has a game plan, USA no plan, except chase the almighty dollar. Blame yourself, no one else.
