(POLL) Republicans trust Trump over media, FBI; other voters disagree

The following is from Rasmussen Reports.

A new Rasmussen Reports survey finds that 44% of likely voters say they trust former President Donald Trump more than the news media, while 41% say they trust the media more, and 15% are unsure. Similarly, 40% say they trust Trump more than the FBI, while 46% trust the FBI more, and 13% are undecided.

Republicans overwhelmingly back Trump, with 81% saying they trust him more than the news media and 72% saying they trust him more than the FBI. Meanwhile, 68% of Democrats say they trust the media more, and 75% say they trust the FBI more than Trump. Independent voters are more divided, with 42% siding with the media over Trump and 38% saying they trust Trump more.

The poll also highlights demographic differences. While 46% of white voters, 25% of black voters, and 51% of Hispanic voters say they trust Trump over the media, his trust numbers compared to the FBI are lower across all racial groups. Additionally, voters earning more than $200,000 per year are the most likely to say they trust the FBI over Trump, while those earning between $30,000 and $50,000 are the most likely to say they trust Trump more.

The survey of 1,245 likely US voters was conducted from January 21-23, 2025, with a margin of error of +/- 3 percentage points at a 95% confidence level.

  1. I’m at the point of not trusting anyone. MSM, government, senators, congress people.
I’ve hear lies from all of them.
I say, only trust your instincts and even then question.

  2. The mainstream media has been lying to me since the 1960s. While Fox News is more reliable that the rest, I no longer trust them since the turned left 10 to 15 years ago.
At this point I trust Trump, but it had best align with what I know. If it contradicts what I know to be true, it better have a good explanation.
