A new Rasmussen Reports poll finds that 55% of likely U.S. voters say they approve of Elon Musk leading the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), including 38% who say they strongly approve. Meanwhile, 45% say they disapprove, including 37% who say they strongly disapprove.
Musk, the billionaire behind Tesla and SpaceX, has a 52% favorability rating, with 43% saying they view him unfavorably. However, DOGE’s mission is even more popular than Musk himself—86% say they consider it important to reduce waste, fraud, and abuse in the federal government, including 66% who say it is very important. Only 11% say they disagree.
Among voters who say it is very important to reduce waste, fraud, and abuse, 65% say they have a favorable opinion of Musk. Even among those who say they have a very unfavorable opinion of Musk, 78% still say they consider the mission of DOGE to be at least somewhat important.
76% of Republicans say they view Musk favorably, but 67% of Democrats say they have an unfavorable opinion of him. Among unaffiliated voters, 53% say they view Musk favorably, while 43% say they view him unfavorably.
83% of Republicans, 28% of Democrats, and 55% of unaffiliated voters say they at least somewhat approve of Musk running DOGE. Majorities across all political categories—78% of Republicans, 56% of Democrats, and 66% of unaffiliated voters—say they consider it very important to reduce waste, fraud, and abuse in the federal government.
The survey of 1,196 likely US voters was conducted on February 6 and 9-10, 2025, with a margin of error of ±3 percentage points.

They all have to be logical thinkers. Why would you not want to know where & how your tax dollars YOU send to the government each year are being spent?
The real truth is now being exposed for the first time. Citizens are beginning to wake up to this Washington DC scam. Their private club of thieves is being exposed.

Does Musk and his team have access to SSN and privacy information or is that what the left wants us to believe? I don’t see the need for DOGE to access personal info to track where and what organizations get the money so I have little concern DOGE will misuse so called privacy info that so many others already have access to. Government data bases have been hacked several times, and by foreign nations such as Chyna. I have gotten more than 5 notifications that my data may have been part of information obtained from hacking and unauthorized release of data, including accidental releases. Yet we now must have a major concern that the DOGE team trying to identify where our tax dollars are being wasted in an effort to stop that waste is problem.
