An overwhelming majority of respondents say they think President Donald Trump should eliminate the Department of Education.
That’s according to the latest unscientific poll at SharylAttkisson.com.
Ninety-eight percent (98%) say they support eliminating the Department of Education.
Only two percent (2%) say they do not support eliminating the department.
These results suggest strong support among respondents for reducing the federal government’s role in education, aligning with Trump’s broader efforts to downsize the federal government.

Poll Question: Do you think Trump should eliminate the Dept. of Education?
98% Yes
2% No

Should they eliminate the Dept of Education the federal government must also get out of the business of funding state schools K-12. A better option would be to reduce the size of the Dept of Education to 15 or 20 persons to establish guidelines for the required achievement levels at each grade and to dispurse funding to districts that meet those levels. They might refuse funding schools that fail to meet the requirements, forcing states to pick up the funding deficiencies until the standards are achieved; or they could reduce funding based on percentages (IE a school district achieves 80% of the standards get 80% of the funding).
Too many states are retaining their DEI garbage and vow to do so regardless of what the federal government stipulates.
Of the 15-20 persons at the Dept of Education, a Cabinet Secretary, a deputy, an administrator leaving 12 state school monitors to go out and verify compliance.
Eliminate the Department of Education and end the income tax. Do these things and return the money to its rightfull owner – The USA Citizen.
The DOE is nothing but an extension of anti-American democrat group-think. Revisionist history, low expectations, and anti-white racism are foundational ideals of government (democrat) education.
