(POLL) 81% support Trump’s tariffs on Canada, Mexico, and China

Most respondents overwhelmingly support Trump’s tariffs, believing they will boost the economy.

That’s according to the latest unscientific poll at SharylAttkisson.com.

Eighty-one percent (81%) say they support Trump’s tariffs, expecting economic benefits.

Nine percent (9%) say they oppose the tariffs, believing they will raise prices.

Ten percent (10%) say they are unsure about the impact of the tariffs.

These results indicate strong support for Trump’s trade policies, with most respondents viewing them as beneficial for the economy.

  1. An interesting survey. Do the respondents realize Trump negotiated the USMCA trade agreement and told the US it was the greatest trade agreement ever put together? He now claims it is unfair and has to hit them with tariffs because he really didn’t get it right the first time. Or is he just lying to us now or was it back then? Any way it is all distractions from his other ploys.

  2. Hmmm. First time visit to this site And likely the last. Why have a poll of your followers ? Of course you are just an echo chamber of all the misinformation they already believe.

  3. Interesting survey, indeed. But what I find most interesting about it is that only 81% of respondents support Trump’s position. Usually in these surveys, the number is well north of 95%. Let’s face it – no one KNOWS how the tariff situation will play out. And that apparently includes Trump since he has started and stopped specifics of the tariffs any number of times already. If they were such a panacea as he claimed during the campaign, why hasn’t he gone all in?
And let’s not forget that Trump promised during the campaign that any tariffs wouldn’t cause prices to go up. That never made any sense to me since the whole purpose of tariffs is to make prices on foreign goods go up to advantage domestic manufacturing. If prices on foreign goods don’t go up, why would consumers’ buying habits change? And now Trump is saying that there may be some short-term pain. That’s a pretty big change in just a few weeks. So which is it – no price increases or short-term pain?
And Phil has made another great point about the USMCA. Somehow it went from being the “greatest trade deal in history” to a situation requiring the extreme measure of tariffs to fix without the benefit of anyone in the Trump Administration even bothering to try to explain the dramatic shift.
And how many of those 81% have even thought about that?
Sure, there will be winners and losers in the tariff wars. There always are with any government initiative. But navigating the tariff waters seems like a pretty complicated thing to me. And I don’t think that I’ll trust someone to do that effectively who has driven multiple businesses into bankruptcy.

With China Canada and Mexico sucking the profits out of the USA economy, and the Houthis shooting at ships, as Biden’s Russian proxy war rages to thousands of deaths, what’s not to love about the use of force? In the USA it has been said – if you get out of bed every day and work hard and play by the rules, then everything will be ok. Yea right. What rules? The history of Japan is worth mentioning. Japanese aircraft blew the hell out of the US military at Pearl Harbor. Ask the Japanese how things went afterwards. If you want to fight the USA – just shoot at ships who are conducting legit business and you will awaken the warriors once again. Does the USA want peace? Absolutely. But not at just any price. You like to fight – Good! Game ON.
