The following is from Rasmussen Reports.
A new Rasmussen Reports poll finds that 66% of likely US voters agree with President Trump’s statement: “It’s time to drain the swamp in Washington, D.C.” This includes 44% who strongly agree, while 25% disagree, with 14% strongly disagreeing.
In a similar poll conducted in September 2018, 71% said they agreed that it was time to “drain the swamp.” While support has declined slightly since then, a majority still say they want to see Washington, D.C., reformed.
Eighty-three percent (83%) of Republicans, 49% of Democrats and 68% of unaffiliated voters say they at least somewhat agree with Trump’s statement.
Fifty-seven percent (57%) of Republicans, 23% of Democrats and 41% of unaffiliated voters say they think that when Trump leaves office, the bureaucratic swamp will be smaller. Meanwhile, 49% of Democrats, 20% of Republicans and 26% of unaffiliated voters say they expect the swamp to be even bigger.
Among those who voted for Trump in last year’s election, 88% say they agree with the statement, “It’s time to drain the swamp in Washington, D.C.”. However, only 42% of Kamala Harris voters say they agree.
The survey of 1,180 likely US voters was conducted on February 27 and March 2-3, 2025, with a margin of error of ±3 percentage points.

I used to work at DARCOM as a summer hire during college. Having already worked in another office environment, it was obvious that the pace was much slower, and the work ethic much lower. Upper level analysts read the paper at their desk with breakfast and coffee, and had very long “liquid” lunches. An employee that was in the admin office I worked in was never at his desk. No one knew what he actually did. Everyone just put up with it because they knew he wouldn’t, couldn’t get fired. Others in the office took up his slack but it was annoying.
What I was unprepared for was all the money that is flowing from our auto deducted taxes into Democrats pockets. DOGE has been amazing. But the amazement is more of the slow burn that sent President Trump to the White House. The amounts of money siphoned from our auto deducted paychecks into the fraudulent largess of USAID is stunning. The pathetic data management at social security is appalling. That anyone argues against clearing all of this up is quite revealing.
Where have these folks been the last 20 years? It is long past time to limit the Bureaucracy the Federal Government has become!
