A strong majority of respondents say they believe the Signal situation involving Trump was not an accident—but a deliberate setup.
That’s according to the latest unscientific poll at SharylAttkisson.com.
Eighty-six percent (86%) say the situation was caused by an insider setting up Trump.
Just fourteen percent (14%) say they believe it was an honest mistake by a Trump official.
The overwhelming response suggests deep skepticism among voters regarding internal loyalty and potential sabotage within Trump’s circle.
These findings reflect ongoing concerns about political operatives and insiders working against Trump, even from within his own team.

It’s hard to determine what’s the truth and what is false. We still do not know who was running our country for the tail end of 2023 and all of 2024. Trump’s 1st assassination attempt has been memory hold, and we have a super majority where the Republicans just can’t stop shooting themselves in the foot. We have a judicial branch dictating what military actions are/are not AND these judges are not allowed/authorized to see most of the documents because they are classified. We have a neutered SCOTUS. Israel’s government is holding our government hostage, we have conservatives split 50/50 on tariffs. Tariffs work. Trump ran on tariffs, was honest there would be a temporary chaotic economy, and we all need to be patient for things to succeed or fail. In 1992 Trump spoke on the need for tariffs on Oprah Winfrey’s show- to an applauded audience and supportive Oprah. Those who are yelling fire and running away from Trump should know by now, the fires aren’t real, they’re a strategic tactic meant to prevent a 2028 Republican presidential candidate from winning. Oh- PLEASE stop whining about the Epstein, MLK, & JFK files. Yes, promises were made to declassify these files by Bondi and Kash, when they were civilians. I’d bet all of my assets they truly believed they could make good on those promises. The kicker? Both reviewed the files as the heads of government agencies and their pucker factor became an 11. We all know, or should, there are just certain details of these files that would be detrimental, on a global scale. Sometimes, ignorance is bliss, and we just need to move on and focus on making our country have a solid back bone again.
Of course it is a set up. The establishment, the left, along with their sycophant media have been trying to destroy Trump for a decade.

They have already set him up for a big recession and with the documents case and other cases so one more would not surprise me in the least. I would like to know how all of these protesters have the off of work time to stand and protest day after day. Or maybe a lot of them are not only professional instigators but are actually the ones getting illegal money from the social security system that also would not surprise me in the least. Either way don’t any of these people work for a living. Seems to me they sure have a lot of free time to protest the stupidest things. Even protesting Elon Musk from getting their information for one they are completely stupid that the one’s in power already have every bit of information on them and if it gets used improperly then they have the right to protest if not I am tired of listening to these brainwashed Americans spouting out about nothing only because the Democrats put it out there with the rest of their propaganda period.
I have two thoughts about this survey result:
1) There are clearly no lengths to which Trump supporters will not go to defend Trump or his appointees. And it matters not that there is not a scintilla of evidence to back up the claim. Or that there is not any reasonable story as to how an “insider” made this happen. It only matters that Trump is somehow defended, no matter how ludicrous the claims.
This reminds me of when the events of January 6 were unfolding, my son texted me that the right-wing media ecosystem was already ablaze with the story that the violence was the work of either Anitfa or BLM (or maybe both). My reaction then was the same as it is today – no sane person would believe that story absent some pretty convincing evidence. Yet, even now, there are many who do, in fact, believe it despite the complete lack of any evidence and despite the investigations that have been conducted since then. And despite the video evidence that we have all seen.
2) So “eighty-six percent (86%) say the situation was caused by an insider setting up Trump”. I’ll bet that if someone asked those 86% how in the world that could happen, they would get 86% different stories. Because when there is no evidence to be used in crafting a story, you’re going to get wildly variable answers.
So I ask in all honestly – how could such a thing have happened? How could an “insider” have penetrated what should be an extremely secure process? Did someone steal Mike Waltz’s phone and put Goldberg’s number in there? Even if someone did that, someone would still have to actually add Goldberg to the conversation. How could someone else have done that when Waltz was in possession of the phone? And why didn’t Waltz verify the identity of those on the call?
Don’t those 86% realize that all of the excuses advanced so far just make Waltz look worse, i.e., a less responsible guardian of American’s secrets?
And, of course, the icing on the cake is that the use of Signal is not authorized for such discussions in the first place. That has nothing to do with any possible “insider” since Waltz is the one who set up the chat on Signal. So are we supposed to believe that some “insider” tricked Waltz into setting up this chat using Signal? What’s next? Waltz falling for the Nigerian prince scam?
And on top of all of this, those 86% have to account for the fact that Mike Waltz (not some “insider”) has taken responsibility for the screw up?
But, naturally, SA will do her best to contribute to such conspiratorial thinking by even raising the possibility that there was some “insider” involved. Because that’s just what she does. There is no event that happens in the world today that can’t be turned into a conspiracy.
