Most respondents say the best time was during the 1950s–60s or 1980s–90s — not today or in recent decades.
That’s according to the latest unscientific poll at SharylAttkisson.com.
Thirty-two percent (32%) say the best time was in the 1950s–60s.
Another thirty-one percent (31%) say it was during the 1980s–90s.
Only three percent (3%) say the best time is now or was between 2000 and 2019.
Sixteen percent (16%) say the 1970s were the best.
Meanwhile, seventeen percent (17%) say the best time has yet to come.
The overwhelming sentiment reflects nostalgia for past decades and skepticism about more recent times.

I am flummoxed once again. Life in the matrix is a tale of sleep-walkers and those who have made efforts to understand the coordinates of a “control-grid”…Ms Attkisson, I would hope that your readers might visit a library on occasion, or learn how to use the internet as a relatively reliable research tool. As for your recent poll- and whether people believe that they have any power to control their own lives or participate in the co-creation of our world-life in the USA is now worse than it was in 1963? Or worse than when the MIC was sucking the treasury teat dry while killing soldiers and civilians in Vietnam? Or life was better when Standard Oil (the Rockefeller regime) was polluting our rivers and natural clean water sources all for the sake of promoting gasoline fueled engines (even though multiple patents have been suppressed that would enable us to drive cars which are either electric or water powered? [or hydrogen fuel cells]… Polls truly reveal just how ‘programmed’ we all are, and the programming is now run by A.I. (artificial intelligence.) Folks will have to learn how to use the “whole-brain” and turn off the ‘screens’ in order to smell the roses in real time.

P.S.
Communist Jews gave rise to nation-protecting NAZIS.
It had been a HOLOCAUST of HUNGER,
My Term,
as allied bombers destroyed food lines,
so well-Cared-for prisoners had to suffer,
in order to feed troops.
Jungian-INTP, appreciate the reply. History will be rewritten-and if all goes well in accord with higher consciousness parameters-REAL history will be written by We the People. And this is a historic event. Much appears to be happening behind the fake news firewall. Pax
Riki Tiki Tavi,

The best of times are in your past if you are unwilling to make a better future.
Think about how the Greatest Generation felt when the Japanese hit Pearl Harbor and how they created great lives after WWII. I could come up with examples throughout history of national or world tragedies that were overcome by our ancestors.
No doubt the present is a very trying era but we can recover.
It is up to the individual to make their lives better.
As a boomer, born in 1958, my observations are yes, the 1950’s- 1990’s were pretty great from a “living in the USA POV.” However, Korea, Vietnam, Iraq 1, War on Terror was chewing up our people and treasure. It altered our politics. It set us apart ideologically. The Federal Government changed the national perception of war. We went about daily life. War was seen in the news. Same with protests. War footing for US citizens was very different 1941-1945. So, the best “times ” were 1981-1988. Reagan, regular Democrats, no war.
