A strong majority of voters say it’s important to keep illegal immigrants from accessing taxpayer-funded programs like Medicaid and food stamps.
According to a new Rasmussen Reports survey, 72% of likely voters say they believe preventing illegal immigrants from receiving government benefits is important, including 48% who say it’s very important. Only 25% say it isn’t important.
The White House recently announced efforts to remove illegal immigrants from benefit rolls. Still, only 45% of voters say they believe the government is doing enough. Thirty-seven percent say the government is not doing enough, and 18% are unsure.
Across political lines, 88% of Republicans, 59% of Democrats, and 68% of unaffiliated voters say it’s at least somewhat important to keep illegal immigrants off government benefits.
However, voters are divided on how well the government is performing on this front. Roughly equal percentages—46% of both Democrats and unaffiliated voters and 43% of Republicans—say the government is doing enough.
Voters who supported Donald Trump in last year’s presidential election are more likely to say the government isn’t doing enough, while a majority of Kamala Harris voters say it is.
The survey of 1,014 likely US voters was conducted July 6–7, 2025, with a margin of error of ±3 percentage points.

It is a great way to encourage”self-deportation” and discourage others from evening attempting illegal entry.
We have produced 2 US citizens via legal process. It’s amazing. One an adoptive daughter from Russia. The other, a beautiful daughter-n-law from Central America, she now has a Masters in Business. These are the kinds of people we want in the USA. (5 year process and work permits inbetween.)
Though our daughter has special needs, we have spent hundreds of dollars in medical and educational expenses to fix what a post communist Russia neglected for a child. We did not ask our government to provide her needs for free, like taxpayers are forced to do with the Biden invasion.

President Trump’s EO 14160 Is Constitutional and Legal:
Illegal Immigrants are not U.S. Citizens, their children are not U.S. Citizens.
The word “Birthright Citizenship” is not in the Constitution. The 1868 14th Amendment allowed former Slaves to become U.S. Citizens overturning the 1857 Dred Scott Decision which prevented Slaves from becoming Citizens. Former Slaves were not Illegal Immigrants, Illegal Immigrants are not former Slaves.
In 1898, Wong Kim Ark was a U.S. Citizen, his parents were legal immigrants when he was born in San Francisco in 1873. His parents could not become U.S. Citizens because of the Chinese Exclusion Act, but they were legal immigrants.
The Japanese American Internment in 1942 violated the 14th Amendment (FDR’s Executive Order 9066) because Japanese Americans were American Citizens born in the U.S., their parents were legal immigrants.
After Congress declared War On Japan on Dec 8,1942, FDR using the 1798 Alien Enemy Act signed Executive Order 9066 on Feb 19, 1942 sending 120,000 Japanese Americans to Internment Camps. The Japanese American Citizens were not Illegal Immigrants nor foreign aliens, they were American Citizens born in the U.S., their parents were legal immigrants. J. Edgar Hoover opposed the Japanese Internment because the FBI found no evidence AJAs were disloyal.
Trump’s EO 14160 restores the meaning of the 14th Amendment and it goes into effect on July 27, 2025.

As taxpaying citizens, we gotta follow all the laws on the road and all the parking laws and all the homeowner laws. How’s it feel to watch on the news, like a few years ago in Santa Monica, the police standing down while carloads of inner city thugs pull up to the REI store and they are allowed to run in, hoodie and all, and take whatever they want? We watched this BS in city after city, carload after carload, the minority teens achieving justice for Sir George Floyd. Makes the blood boil.
Amazing that the people opposed to government benefits to illegals is not 100%.

It is a good start stopping federal benefits to illegal immigrants, but a mechanism to prevent state benefits going to illegal immigrants is needed.
Additional costs due to crime, rampant drug imports, disease, and labor issues have been inflicted on all legal, hard working, law abiding citizens of the United States.
I for one certainly dont want my tax dollars going to assist illegals here in this country. They can leave on their own or be deported. If they want to apply for legal citizenship, then no problem. But dont come here illegally and dont expect tax payer dollars in help when they have no right to be here to begin with.
This seems so elementary: the middle class is suffering. I live in a large city where there is no housing. Prices are going up on basics such as public transit and utilities. I will never be able to retire. Meanwhile, illegals are sending back money to their home countries to buy houses, etc, while they collect benefits via an anchor baby. They actually will have a place to retire someday. People know the US taxpayers are being taken for a ride. We know taxes are too high and the quality of life is too low. Yep, we aren’t in a generous or forgiving mood anymore.
And off of the voter rolls. Dems registering them as fast as they could.
US and state government assistance to illegal aliens is one of the two big draws that keep them coming here. Take that away from the ones who do not have employment, and they will either find employment or leave. Those who are employed and send remittances back to their countries of origin will no longer be able to. The money saved will be substantial. Despite illegal aliens being deeply woven into the fabric of our economy, they are, on balance, drain on the country.

The voters and Congress have kicked the can down the street until we have hit the cliff, an out of control national debt. We now pay a trillion dollars in interest, on this debt, which no human can grasp. A soft estimate is $115,000 per person, including the ancient in the ICU and the new born baby. The softness is due to unfunded liabilities, spending which is legal but with no means of paying it back. There are politicians who made a good living, retired well and died on this Ponzi scheme. Good luck to the young.
All spending, including funding illegal aliens, must be stopped until the bleeding, our annual deficit, is reversed, a surplus. to pay off all the “good ideas”. MAGA has only two hopes, work harder to make more money or raise taxes to pay off “our” debt. We voted for these creatures.
