The following is from Rasmussen Reports.
A majority of voters say President Donald Trump is more available to the press than Joe Biden was. The new Rasmussen Reports survey finds 52% of likely voters say Trump is more accessible to the media than Biden, while just 25% say he is less accessible. Sixteen percent (16%) say Trump and Biden are about the same.
Nearly half of voters (49%) rate Trump as doing a good or excellent job in terms of press accessibility. Twenty-eight percent (28%) give him a poor rating.
Forty-five percent (45%) say most national media outlets are hostile to Trump, while only 22% say the press is friendly. Twenty-six percent (26%) believe the media are neutral in their coverage.
Sixty-six percent (66%) of Republicans say the media are hostile to Trump, a view shared by 24% of Democrats and 46% of independents.
Among those who voted for Trump in last year’s presidential election, 78% say he is more accessible to the media than Biden was. Only 26% of Kamala Harris voters agree.
The report also notes that this week Trump invited reporters’ questions during a three-hour Cabinet meeting, while the Washington Times observed that Biden answered only five press questions across nine Cabinet meetings during his term.
The survey of 1,190 likely voters was conducted August 24-26, 2025, by Rasmussen Reports with a margin of error of +/- 3 percentage points.
