The following is from Gallup News.
A record-high 62% of Americans now say the federal government has too much power. That’s the highest number Gallup has recorded since first asking the question in 2002.
It’s a sharp rise from 51% just one year ago.

For the first time since 2007, more Democrats than Republicans say the federal government has grown too powerful. Among Democrats and Democrat-leaning independents, the percentage jumped from 25% to 66%. In contrast, the percentage of Republicans and Republican leaners saying the same fell from 75% to 58%.
Historically, Republicans have led concern over government power — especially during Democrat administrations. That concern peaked at 82% in 2013, during the Obama presidency. It fell to a low of 32% in 2002 under President George W. Bush.
Gallup notes that Democrats’ growing concern may reflect the actions of what it describes as President Trump’s “extraordinarily active presidency.” The report cites his record number of executive orders, use of military resources within the US, and broad unilateral decisions like tariffs.
Gallup’s polling also shows that public attitudes shift sharply based on which party holds the White House. For example, when President Obama was in office, concern among Republicans surged. Now with a Republican president, the concern is shifting to Democrats.
When asked whether the government is doing too much or should do more to solve national problems:
- 51% of Americans say the government is doing too much
- 40% say it should do more
That sentiment hasn’t changed much over the years.
But the partisan split on this question is clear:
- 74% of Republicans say the government is doing too much
- 34% of Democrats agree
Overall, this is the first time since 2007 that Democrats have overtaken Republicans in concern about the federal government becoming too powerful.

‘Specificity and context’ are lacking with these polls. Case in point: What government are we speaking of here? We have very little influence on any form of representational govt. when corporate lobbyists and NGO’s [such as AIPAC] are directing our congress people. In terms of some form of intra-governmental structure, such as the Military Corporate Complex/Pentagon/DoD (or call it: ‘Deep State’), this is not “Our”[The People’s] Government. Also-the actual government that continues to fund wars against the common people may be considered the “shadow govt.”- and this is also not the ‘Government Of the People.’ If one wishes to justify the Trillion$ in govt-agency expenditures and ignore the lack of transparency regarding “agency” budgets, this illustrates yet again how We the People have little power over the apparatus some may call The Govt. We may as well say that we have no government, and that whatever is controlling the treasury and tax system is more powerful than the fake-govt which televises its drama for the MSM broadcasters(which serves the various advertisers and corporate sponsor’s sales directives.) Greater specificity with these polls…please.
Government has had too much power for decades, but most people are too partisan to notice unless the “other” party is in power. Meanwhile each successive administration has taken more power for the government regardless of which party they represent. What happens when the other party takes power again? Simple, they now have even more power granted to them from their supposed “opposition” party being in power and this allows them to take still more power for themselves. Round and round we go while our rights and freedoms get undermined year after year.

WE – we the people of the united colonies – comprise

England would accept/surrender to the rag-tag,
treasonous, disloyal, soldier-colonist betrayers ?

Karl Marx, firstly, converted England to socialism;
then, secondly, converted Christians here to advance
socialism, in order to shift their own Jesus-centered
responsibility, to aid the poor, onto WELFARE-care
tax-payers ( overly taxed producers/citizenry ). That’s
why church leaders had gathered and signed a letter
asking President Trump to – as our Marxian Pope had
done – “welcome the [ invading ] strangers”—house
them, give them credit cards, school their children,
and put all of them on Medical-Care rolls (( eventually,
all 8-billion worldwide—Universal, One-World Marxism )).
Church leaders are GRIFTERS, appealing to women
– both females and “males“ – at Sunday services to
hand over more and more money—to maintain their
millionaire lifestyles; and maintain Libertine/Liberal/
Leftist federal Welfare Workers in 80 Welfare agencies.
Eighty, or so, programs are still operating since Lyndon
Johnson’s grifting – insane – “WAR against Poverty”—as
Democrat Lyndon Johnson had gleefully opined about
the real purpose of his Welfare-Money for blacks, not-so-
INSANE
PURPOSE/
GOAL :
— “ We’ll have those N….s [have their votes] forever ! ” —
And so they have – those socialist Democrats – as Left-
Leaning CHURCH fathers strap you with their moral duty,
via this CIVILIZATION-Collapsing Welfare System, to aid
the poor (( pastors/ministers/priests/rabbis HIDE THEIR
LEFTISM, keeping silent about self-responsibility needed
among the poor while enabling them to stay in poverty;
read/study my essay, “The Poor” )).
WE have had little power since Marxian Abe Lincoln’s
brutal assault against the Christian South—as he, and
the 1848ers in his administration ( Marxists, all ), CEN-

WE have had no self-government
from the time Abe & Company
had applied Illuminati-style
impositions against
majority rule ( explained in here : https://sharylattkisson.com/2021/10/forum-big-govt-can-force-actions-upon-many/#comment-111721 ).

This shouldn’t be a surprise now that Trump’s doing what POTUSs should do, but the truth is that the Founding Fathers realized it would come to this when they set up our government.
Indeed, that is why they drafted the Constitution as it existed before the 17th Amendment was adopted, altering the way our government was intended to operate.
The Founding Fathers’ plan required the State Legislatures to “select” their US Senators. The plan was to have each of the Senators vote to protect the state that sent them to the US Senate. The 17th Amendment changed that process and allowed the “citizens” of the state to vote for their Senators.
The citizens foolishly believed the media’s claim that they would have more power. That was a lie, of course, as the change gave the media and the monied interests the power. All candidates know that running a state-wide campaign, even in the smallest of states, requires millions. Consequently, they need the support of the media and the money interests to get elected. They know, too, that they can only get that support by doing what pleases them.
Repealing the 17th Amendment, therefore, is the answer. But the only way that could be accomplished today is for three-fourths (3/4) of the states to pass a Constitutional Amendment.
As difficult as this may sound, it could be done if Americans like Elon Musk, Joe Rogan, and President Donald Trump got behind the effort.
Trump will resolve this!
