A new Rasmussen Reports poll finds 63% of likely US voters say they are concerned that electronic voting systems may allow votes to be changed remotely through Internet connections. That includes 33% who say they are very concerned. Thirty-two percent (32%) say they are not concerned.

The level of concern about voting machines being vulnerable to remote manipulation has remained high and stable since at least September, according to Rasmussen’s polling. The numbers have shifted very little in recent months, suggesting that distrust in electronic voting technology continues to be a major issue for many voters.

President Donald Trump has made election integrity a central focus of his second-term agenda. Forty-six percent (46%) of voters say they believe it is likely that cheating affected the outcome of the 2020 election, including 27% who say it is very likely. Forty-eight percent (48%) say they do not believe it is likely, including 33% who say it is not at all likely.

Among Republican voters, 68% say they believe the 2020 election was at least somewhat likely affected by cheating. That view is shared by 26% of Democrats and 45% of unaffiliated voters.

Thirty-six percent (36%) of voters say they believe electronic voting machines make it easier to cheat in elections. Twenty-two percent (22%) say they make it harder, while 31% say the machines do not make much difference. Eleven percent (11%) say they are not sure.

Among voters who say they believe the 2020 election was likely affected by cheating, 90% say they are also at least somewhat concerned that electronic voting systems may allow remote vote changes through Internet connections.

The survey of 1,176 likely US voters was conducted November 23–25, 2025, by Rasmussen Reports. The margin of sampling error is plus or minus three percentage points with 95% confidence. Field work was conducted by Pulse Opinion Research, LLC.
