A plurality of respondents say stuffing or dressing is the best Thanksgiving food.
That’s according to the latest unscientific poll at SharylAttkisson.com.
Thirty-nine percent (39%) say stuffing or dressing tops their Thanksgiving table.
Twenty-nine percent (29%) choose turkey as their favorite.
Sixteen percent (16%) say pumpkin pie is the best dish, while seven percent (7%) pick cranberries.
Five percent (5%) say gravy is their favorite, and five percent (5%) choose sweet potatoes.
These results show stuffing holds a clear edge as the most-loved Thanksgiving classic among respondents.

My recipe:
2 boxes of Bells
1 tube of Gunnos hot sausage
1 tube of Gunnos sage sausage
1/2 chopped white onion
10 stalks of chopped celery
Brown sausage together with veg. Reserve all including the fat.
Follow box directions and add 1/2 the meat n veg
Stuff the bird
Blend the 2nd box per box instructions with the other 1/2 of meat n veg
Mix with stuffing from turkey cavity together.
Serve

Gravy would be a lot higher if people just added a dollop of really good balsamic vinegar into a really good turkey pan gravy.
Then put the rich dark gravy on a really good standard bread stuffing mix, loaded with braised in butter garlic and celery along with grated real parmesan cheese.
Forget the turkey – use it just to stuff it full of stuffing. But don’t forget the jellied cranberry sauce – perfect balance between the stuffing and gravy. Umm, um.
It is the best, but we call it dressing here in the South. Everybody’s recipe is slightly different but I make mine with cornbread and biscuits with a consistency of savory bread pudding. A traditional family recipe on my Dad’s side is Peanut Butter dressing but I never tried it… didn’t like peanut butter 🤣
