(POLL) 51% approve capture of Venezuela’s Maduro

The following is from Rasmussen Reports.

More than half of US voters say they approve of Operation Absolute Resolve, the US military action that captured Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro, according to a new Rasmussen Reports survey.

The poll finds that 51% of likely US voters approve of capturing Maduro, including 30% who say they strongly approve. Forty-one percent disapprove of the action, including 28% who strongly disapprove.

Following the operation, Maduro and his wife were brought to the United States to face federal charges related to drug trafficking and terrorism. Sixty-eight percent of voters say they believe it is likely Maduro will be convicted and sentenced to prison, including 37% who say a conviction is very likely. Eighteen percent say it is not likely Maduro will go to prison, while 14% say they are not sure.

The survey also found concern about US involvement in Venezuela. Sixty-eight percent of voters say they are concerned the US could become too involved in Venezuela, including 40% who say they are very concerned. Twenty-eight percent say they are not concerned.

Opinions differ sharply by political affiliation. Seventy-four percent of Republicans approve of the military action to capture Maduro, compared with 30% of Democrats. Among voters not affiliated with either major party, 47% approve and 46% disapprove. Majorities across party lines say they are at least somewhat concerned the US could become too involved in Venezuela.

The survey of 1,145 likely US voters was conducted January 7–8 and 11, 2026, by Rasmussen Reports. The margin of sampling error is plus or minus 3 percentage points.

  1. The division regarding ‘support/ no support’ for Maduro’s arrest merely indicates how many people still listen to the liberal-propaganda and fake news outlet’s mockingbird spin. Maduro was indicted even before Trump was elected. When we restore the DOJ as a trustworthy ally for the embattled Republic, then we may yet see some sort of Free press ‘real news’ published somewhere; and teach the US citizenry about the voting machine modem-chips which allow for foreign interference in US elections. At that time, anyone who is awake will realize that Maduro’s crime connections were also involved in the rigged 2020 US election. [the dots will connect with other countries as well] Then, perhaps decent law-abiding patriot-activists like Mike Lindell will finally receive vindication. Drug Cartels support the Central Bank hub–one of the primary reasons we are not allowed to delve more deeply into the roots of evil.
