A new Rasmussen Reports survey finds strong support among Democrats for another impeachment of President Donald Trump, following the two impeachment proceedings during his first term.
Overall, 49% of likely US voters say they would support impeaching Trump again, including 37% who say they strongly support it. Forty-five percent say they oppose another impeachment, including 34% who strongly oppose it.
Rep. Jasmine Crockett of Texas has been among Democrats in Congress pushing for another impeachment of Trump.
Among Democrats, 73% say they support impeaching Trump again, including 58% who strongly support it. By contrast, 75% of Republicans say they oppose another impeachment. Among voters not affiliated with either major party, 49% support impeachment, 41% oppose it, and 10% say they are not sure.
Voters were also asked to evaluate the impact of Trump’s previous impeachments. Thirty-four percent say the two impeachments during his first term were a good thing for American democracy, while 37% say they were a bad thing. Twenty-six percent say they did not make much difference.
Views on the prior impeachments vary sharply by party. Fifty-four percent of Democrats say the two impeachments were a good thing for American democracy, while 63% of Republicans say they were a bad thing. Among unaffiliated voters, opinions are mixed, with similar shares saying the impeachments were good, bad, or made little difference.
Support for another impeachment is closely tied to views of the earlier efforts. Among voters who believe impeaching Trump twice was good for American democracy, 86% say they support impeaching him again.
The survey of 1,146 likely US voters was conducted January 20–22, 2026, by Rasmussen Reports. The margin of sampling error is plus or minus 3 percentage points.
