Ron Johnson urges Trump administration to recognize Covid vaccine injuries as a medical condition

Sen. Ron Johnson (R-Wisconsin) is calling on the Trump administration to create a medical billing code for Covid-19 vaccine injuries, arguing that patients have struggled for years to receive recognition and treatment.

In an interview on the John Solomon Reports podcast, Johnson said the Dept. of Health and Human Services should establish an International Classification of Diseases (ICD) code for Covid vaccine injuries.

“Trump’s HHS has to acknowledge that these injection injuries are real. They’ve got to create an ICD code so the doctors can get reimbursed.”

ICD codes are used by insurers and healthcare providers to document diagnoses, process claims, and reimburse treatment.

Johnson said his request follows a Senate investigation into Covid-19 vaccine safety data and hearings examining adverse events linked to the shots.

The Wisconsin lawmaker, who chairs the Senate Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations, has argued that federal health agencies failed to adequately address safety signals identified in vaccine surveillance systems.

Johnson also pointed to reports submitted to the Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS), saying more transparency is needed regarding vaccine-related injuries and adverse events.

The American Medical Association continues to state that Covid-19 vaccines are safe and effective and advises physicians to discuss potential side effects with patients.

Johnson said additional records should be made public and that officials who concealed information about vaccine injuries should be held accountable.
