Democrat presidential candidate Gabbard sues Google, alleges election meddling

There's more reason to question whether the big tech companies are putting their thumb on the scale or even meddling when it comes to U.S. elections.

New allegations and a federal lawsuit come from the presidential campaign of Democrat Tulsi Gabbard.

According to Gabbard, in the immediate hours after the first Democratic Presidential debate on June 28th, 2019, "millions of Americans were searching online for information about Tulsi Gabbard."

The campaign points to news reports that state Gabbard was the most searched candidate on Google. Then, without any explanation, Gabbard says, Google suspended her Google Ads account.

The following information comes from the Gabbard campaign:

For hours, Tulsi’s campaign advertising account remained offline while Americans everywhere were searching for information about her. During this time, Google obfuscated and dissembled with a series of inconsistent and incoherent reasons for its actions. In the end, Google never explained to us why Tulsi’s account was suspended.  Google controls 88 percent of all internet search in the United States – essentially giving it control over our access to information. That’s one reason why Tulsi has been a vocal proponent of breaking up the tech monopolies. And no matter what the motivation was for doing so, Google’s arbitrary and capricious decision to suspend Tulsi’s Google Ads account during a critical moment in our campaign should be of concern to all political candidates and in fact all Americans.

Tulsi Gabbard campaign

Gabbard's campaign has filed a lawsuit against Google in federal court stating that, "Big Tech’s dominance represents a clear and present danger to our democracy."

Google’s discriminatory actions against my campaign are reflective of how dangerous their complete dominance over internet search is, and how the increasing dominance of big tech companies over our public discourse threatens our core American values. This is a threat to free speech, fair elections and to our democracy, and I intend to fight back on behalf of all Americans.

Google has repeatedly denied any misconduct or interference involving its product.

Inmate questioned about jail injury of sex offender Epstein

An inmate has been questioned over the jail injury of convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

That's according to WNBC.

Epstein was said to have been nearly unconscious when found in his New York City jail cell this week.

WNBC says sources indicate inmate Nicholas Tartaglione was questioned after the incident. He is reportedly a former police officer accused of four drug related murders.

Tartaglione denied any suggestions that he touched Epstein and claimed he saw nothing relevant, according to WNBC.

Authorities are said to be looking into whether Epstein may have attempted suicide or whether somebody else injured him. He reportedly had injuries to his neck.

Robert Mueller cannot find "conspiracy"

In an uncomfortable exchange that lasted nearly one minute, former Special Counsel Robert Mueller could not think of the word "conspiracy."

Mueller was testifying Wednesday before the House Intelligence Committee. Democrats and Republicans asked him to explain the findings of his investigation into Trump-Russia collusion.

Police witness: Georgia legislator is the one who told man to "go back"

According to information in a police report, it was the accuser--a Georgia state legislator--who uttered an allegedly racist phrase to a fellow shopper at a grocery store.

That news from the Atlanta Journal Constitution.

Rep. Erica Thomas originally claimed a "white" man confronted her when she had too many items in an express lane and hurled racist insults at her including "Go back to your country" or "Go back where you came from."

Rep. Erica Thomas (Georgia) lodged tearful accusations of a racial attack (above Facebook video) but recanted some of them the following day.

In making the accusation, Thomas tied President Trump to the alleged incident because Trump had recently suggested that four members of Congress who criticize America should "go back" to their families' countries of origin and make them better.

However, the day after Thomas recorded her supermarket accusations in a tearful Facebook video, she acknowledged the man did not say those words and that she said something like that to him.

Additionally, the man, Eric Sparkes, denied making racial comments and said he is not "white" as Thomas has claimed. He said he is a Cuban, a Democrat and anti-Republican.

A Publix employee told a Cobb County officer that she witnessed part of the conversation and heard Thomas "continuously tell Eric Sparkes to 'Go back where you came from!''' but did not hear Sparkes utter those words to Thomas.

In January, African American actor Jussie Smollett claimed he was victim of a racist attack by white Trump supporters who put a noose around his neck. A month later, his story appeared to fall apart and Smollett was indicted for allegedly paying two black colleagues to stage a fake crime assault against him.

There are multiple other recent instances of allegedly faked racial crimes and allegation tied to President Trump.

A week before Trump was elected, Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church in Mississippi was torched and the words “Vote Trump” found painted on the outside. The mayor condemned the incident as a hate crime and stated it was “an attack on the black church and the black community.” However, police later arrested a black church member for the arson. They say the man staged the fire to look like an attack by Trump supporters.

The day after Trump was elected, an incident at Elon University in North Carolina made national news. Hispanic students found a “hateful note” written on a classroom whiteboard reading, “Bye Bye Latinos.” After the story made news, it was learned that the message was written by “a Latino student who was upset about the results of the election.”

Also the day after Trump was elected, a gay man — reportedly a filmmaker — claimed that homophobic Trump supporters smashed his face with a bottle outside a bar in Santa Monica, Calif. A bloody photo was posted on Twitter, and he was said to have been treated at a local hospital. Police investigated the media reports. They said no complaint was ever filed, there was no evidence of a crime, and a check of local hospitals showed no victim in such an incident.

The week after Trump’s election, a Muslim student at the University of Louisiana, Lafayette, claimed Trump supporters pulled off her head covering, and assaulted and robbed her. She later admitted fabricatingthe story.

A month after Trump’s election, a Muslim-American woman claimed Trump supporters tried to steal her headwear and harassed her on the New York City subway. She ultimately was arrested after confessing she made up the whole story.

Did U.S. government weaponize ticks?

It may sound outlandish but there are serious questions as to whether the U.S. government experimented to "weaponize" common ticks.

According to CNN, Congress is asking the Pentagon Inspector General to investigate whether the Defense Department has experimented with insects, including ticks, as biological weapons.

If true, what were the parameters of the program? Who ordered it? Was there any accidental release anywhere or at any time of any of the diseased ticks?

Rep. Chris Smith (R-N.J.)

CNN reports the idea to investigate is the brainstorm of Rep. Chris Smith, a Republican from New Jersey. The measure reportedly calls for the Inspector General to look into whether government tick experiments were conducted in the 50s, 60s and 70s. There have long been writings about and rumors of such experimentation.

"The Squad": relatively unknown in middle America

Four controversial, ultra-left members of Congress who call themselves "The Squad" have gotten significant news coverage in recent weeks, but are relatively unknown outside of political circles.

That's according to a recent poll by ScottRasmussen.com.

The members of Congress who call themselves "The Squad" are: Democrats Ilhan Omar of Minnesota, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of New York, Rashida Tlaib of Michigan and Ayanna Pressley of Massachusetts.

Critics of "The Squad" accuse them of taking positions and making statements that are anti-American, anti-Semitic and racist. However, "The Squad" accuses President Trump and others of being racist, homophobic and more.

Fifty-eight percent (58%) of those polled either aren't sure what the political leanings of "The Squad" are. Fewer than half knew that the members are "extremely progressive."

  • 44% unsure what "The Squad" represents
  • 42% say they are "extremely progressive"
  • 8% say they are "bi-partisan moderates"
  • 6% say they are "extremely conservative"

In other poll results, 42% said House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, a Democrat from California, better represents the party than does Ocasio-Cortez. Twenty percent (20%) say Ocasio-Cortez is a better representative.
