Hidden dangers of MRIs?

MRI

Chuck Norris and his wife Gena talk about her illnesses after five MRIs with contrast “dye”

MRIs have been around for a couple of decades as a valuable medical tool. Sometimes, contrast “dye” is used to provide better images. Doctors once thought the gadolinium heavy metal chemical in the dye was immediately expelled from the body and didn’t do any harm. But a few years back, the FDA issued a warning.

The FDA said that in people with kidney problems, the gadolinium can remain in their bodies and cause a painful and deadly disorder.

Now, patients who had no kidney problems are complaining about the same kind of injuries after multiple MRIs. One of those patients is the wife of famed actor and martial arts expert Chuck Norris. We’ll visit with the Norris’ at their Texas ranch and hear their story on Sunday’s Full Measure. The makers of the “dye” and the FDA say they’re studying the issue but that they don’t think there’s any reason for concern.

Also, Scott Thuman takes us inside a high-tech military research and development agency, “DARPA,” to see their accomplishments and boondoggles over the years.

I so appreciate your presentation on harm done by the contrast material used in MRIs. I am one of those harmed. I have healthy kidneys AND have gadolinium toxicity after ONE infusion. I am struggling physically, mentally and financially. Insurance will not pay for the current treatment (chelation) which is 150-200 dollars 2-4 x”s per month for an indeterminate number of treatments. I’m currently on number 12…
Thank you again for your attention to this topic. Many are suffering terribly.
