The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has confirmed the first case of the Omicron variant in the United States in a fully vaccinated individual.

First confirmed case of Omicron variant detected in the United States
The California and San Francisco Departments of Public Health have confirmed that a recent case of COVID-19 among an individual in California was caused by the Omicron variant (B.1.1.529). The individual was a traveler who returned from South Africa on November 22, 2021. The individual, who was fully vaccinated and had mild symptoms that are improving, is self-quarantining and has been since testing positive. All close contacts have been contacted and have tested negative.
Genomic sequencing was conducted at the University of California, San Francisco and the sequence was confirmed at CDC as being consistent with the Omicron variant. This will be the first confirmed case of COVID-19 caused by the Omicron variant detected in the United States.
On November 26, 2021, the World Health Organization (WHO) classified a new variant, B.1.1.529, as a Variant of Concern and named it Omicron and on November 30, 2021, the United States also classified it as a Variant of Concern. CDC has been actively monitoring and preparing for this variant, and we will continue to work diligently with other U.S. and global public health and industry partners to learn more. Despite the detection of Omicron, Delta remains the predominant strain in the United States.
The recent emergence of the Omicron variant (B.1.1.529) further emphasizes the importance of vaccination, boosters, and general prevention strategies needed to protect against COVID-19. Everyone 5 and older should get vaccinated boosters are recommended for everyone 18 years and older.

I was at the store earlier today, and passed a newspaper stand with USA Today on display. A front-page headline declared (I am paraphrasing), “African variant proves need for worldwide vaccination.” The article went on to claim that variants are caused primarily by the unvaccinated, which – if I remember correctly – is at best debatable and may be an outright falsehood.
We already know that the vaccinated can catch and transmit the earlier versions of Covid, so why wouldn’t they catch and transmit new variants that the vaccines weren’t designed for and probably wouldn’t recognize? In fact, early reports are that most if not all of the early carriers of the omicron variant are in fact vaccinated.
The major hype and hysteria over the little-understood omicron variant increasingly looks like more fear-mongering and pro-vaccine propaganda masking as informed science.

Let me start by saying that I’m no doctor! To be honest i didn’t even go to college. Went straight to work out of high school. But I have common sense and I look at the big picture not just the place I’m being told to look. Kind of like magicians, watch this hand so you don’t see what the other ones doing. I wish the media would actually investigate like they used to and put this information out there for everyone to see. But they won’t. Because it’s not their plan or what their being payed to say. But these vaccines…. They wear off fast, get more boosters, new variant comes out and we tweak the booster for another shot. Virus’s mutate and keep mutating and mutating. How much of this “vaccine” can the human body take on? Since they refuse to admit that natural immunity works. I mean it has only been working for thousands of years. I don’t doubt this virus is real. My wife is a RN and has been in the thick of it and by the way is a pro vaxer. Makes for fun times at home. All I would like is the truth and that’s just to hard to find anymore. God bless!
Wait… what???? You’re basically telling us that the vaccine didn’t work, but in the next breath you say we should all go out and get vaxxed. If everyone just did their best to support their own immune system, and if good proven methods to do so weren’t being heavily suppressed right now, there wouldn’t be a pandemic.
