Pelosi, Schumer Joint Statement on Reported Draft Supreme Court Decision to Overturn Roe v. Wade
MAY 2, 2022 PRESS RELEASE
Washington, D.C. – House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer issued this statement following media reports of a draft Supreme Court decision overturning the landmark Roe v. Wade ruling:
“If the report is accurate, the Supreme Court is poised to inflict the greatest restriction of rights in the past fifty years – not just on women but on all Americans.
“The Republican-appointed Justices’ reported votes to overturn Roe v. Wade would go down as an abomination, one of the worst and most damaging decisions in modern history.
“Several of these conservative Justices, who are in no way accountable to the American people, have lied to the U.S. Senate, ripped up the Constitution and defiled both precedent and the Supreme Court’s reputation – all at the expense of tens of millions of women who could soon be stripped of their bodily autonomy and the constitutional rights they’ve relied on for half a century.
“The party of Lincoln and Eisenhower has now completely devolved into the party of Trump. Every Republican Senator who supported Senator McConnell and voted for Trump Justices pretending that this day would never come will now have to explain themselves to the American people.”

This is the proper judgement.
It gives everyone what they want in one form or another.
It maintains the integrity of the US constitution (which we have to go back to especially with respect to sound money). Anything not explicit within the constitution shall be the the domain of the states. That is what this decision does.
The California infanticide proponents can be the baby killers they wish to be (be all that you can be).
The more moral and godly jurisdictions who see abortion as murder can impose whatever laws they see fit. If you don’t like your state’s laws, please move.
Private foundations should establish funding so that the imposition of the state’s laws do not substantially impact the choice of those who don’t see this as murder. But not without some discomfort. Women who have been give an unbelievable gift from the creator (however you define god) to create life itself should realize what they are doing when they snuff out a life. It is not without substantial remorse in a moral and just society. And men should stop being without remorse and provide some constructive input into the process. It ain’t free and there are consequences.
But let’s all stop barking at the moon. That only creates emotion chaos.
Chaos is exactly what the left on the democrat side of the aisle wants. It is obvious neither Pelosi, Schumer, Biden or any of the left have read the Alito draft.
As you correctly stated it does not prevent abortion but leaves it up to the states to decide. States like CA, NY, NJ, IL etc will permit abortions to varying degrees, in fact most states will allow abortions up to a specific time in the pregnancy. To date only OK has indicated it will prevent all abortions from day one except in certain instances, health of the mother or rape.
No doubt the new “Ministry of Disinformation” won’t be citing the left for all the bogus information they are putting out.
