(POLL) 33% of Democrats might vote for RFK Jr. as third-party candidate

A quarter of Democratic voters favor Robert F. Kennedy Jr. in their party’s primary, and many would vote for Kennedy if he ran as a third-party candidate in 2024.

That’s according to the latest Rasmussen Reports.

The survey found that 57% of likely Democratic voters would vote for President Joe Biden in the 2024 Democratic primaries, while 25% would vote for RFK Jr.

Only three percent (3%) of Democrats favor author Marianne Williamson in the primaries, while seven percent (7%) would vote for some other candidate.

If Biden is the Democratic presidential candidate in 2024 and Republicans nominate former President Donald Trump, while RFK Jr. runs as a third-party candidate, 33% of Democratic voters say it is likely they would vote for Kennedy, including 14% who say it’s “very likely.”

Among all likely voters, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is viewed favorably 49%, including 14% with a very favorable impression.

Thirty-seven percent (37%) view Kennedy unfavorably, including 20% with a very unfavorable opinion.

Fourteen percent (14%) are not sure.

  1. I have no doubt that RFK Jr. as a third-party candidate ,will receive at least another 10% of those ,who do not participate in any pools.

  2. Third party hell. I want two bites at the apple. First I’m a Republican from Pennsylvania which has closed primaries. Since Trump will be the Republican candidate, I’m switching parties in order to vote for RFK Jr.. In the event the scarecrow with out a brain Biden wins the primary then I;ll vote for President Trump once again. Either way I’m voting for President trump in the general election.

  3. In every election since the Bush/Clinton I haven’t voted FOR a candidate, I’ve voted AGAINST a candidate. When I started paying attention to Kennedy, and knowing the consequences of Biden’s current disaster, I switched affiliation from I to D just to get Biden the hell out (closed state primary). But I have deep seated regrets (if I knew then what I know now) for not getting on the Ron Paul bandwagon many years ago. Many, many regrets. Kennedy may be the nearest thing to Ron Paul we’ve got going these days and if he runs third party he’ll most likely get my vote.

  4. 33% of Dem voters is significant. According to Gallop, party affiliation in 2023 is 25% Dem, 26% Rep and 47% Ind. (https://news.gallup.com/poll/15370/party-affiliation.aspx)
RFK is very popular amongst Republicans and Independents. According to my calculations, in a 3 way contest where RFK received 33% of Dem votes, 50% of Independent votes and 20% of Republican votes, he would end up with over 37% to Trump’s 32% and Biden’s 28%.. All hypothetical and does not factor in Cornell West but there does appear to be a path here.
