President Joe Biden is too old for the job, according to a majority of voters, who say they don’t think he should seek reelection next year.
That’s according to Rasmussen Reports.
The survey finds that 54% say Biden is too old to be president, while 37% say they disagree.
Biden recently turned 81 – already the oldest president in US history – and would be 86 by the time he finished a second term.
Thirty-six percent (36%) of Democrats say they think Biden is too old to be president, as do 77% of Republicans and 52% of voters not affiliated with either major party.
Fifty-four percent (54%) of likely voters say Biden should not run for reelection in 2024, while 37% say they believe he should seek a second term, and the breakdown by party affiliation on this question is nearly identical to the question of whether he is too old for the office.
Nearly half (49%) say they believe it is likely that the Democratic Party will replace Joe Biden with someone else as their 2024 presidential candidate, including 24% who think it is “very likely.”
Forty percent (40%) don’t believe Democrats are likely to replace Biden for 2024, including 13% who say it is “not at all likely.”
