An update to our reporting on transgender athletes and the controversy over males competing on female sports teams. The Biden administration has unveiled a revamp of Title IX regulations, aimed at protecting transgender and other students by changing the way sexual harassment claims are handled on campus. Missing is a policy to forbid schools from enacting outright bans on transgender/male athletes competing against women.

That comes as college swimmer-turned-women’s-rights-activist Riley Gaines is among more than a dozen athletes suing the NCAA. That over a swimmer who switched in 2019 from the men’s team as William Thomas to the women’s team as Lia. In the national championships, Thomas and Gaines tied for fifth, but Thomas was handed the fifth place trophy.
Meantime, the NXXT Women’s Pro Tour recently banned men from competing on the women’s tour. That includes transgender golfer Hailey Davidson, formerly “James,” who’d won the NXXT Women’s Classic in January.
