All the Things Hillary Clinton’s Book Doesn’t Say–About Iraq

Pulitzer Prize winning author and journalist Jeff Gerth offers an intriguing review of Hillary Clinton’s new book: what the former Secretary of State, U.S. Senator and First Lady left out. About Iraq.

Gerth co-authored a biography of Clinton in 2007, “Her Way,” and says that “Iraq is not one of her favorite subjects.”

“There is no chapter on its own for Iraq, like there is for Gaza, or Burma or Haiti,” writes Gerth in his new article. “The discussion of Iraq is scattered throughout the 632-page book, and it is mostly about old battles. Clinton does not delve into the challenges she faced as secretary of state in 2011 as her department inherited responsibility for Iraq’s security assistance when American troops withdrew.”

Check out Gerth’s “closer look at what Clinton wrote—and didn’t write” about Iraq. He adds that Clinton’s office and the book’s publicist did not respond to requests for comment.

“Gerth is a senior reporter at ProPublica. Previously, Gerth worked as an investigative reporter at The New York Times. He has twice been awarded the Pulitzer Prize.”
