Many voters don’t want Vice President Kamala Harris as President Joe Biden’s running mate in 2024; but the Democratic voters do.
Among Republican voters Florida Governor Ron DeSantis leads among potential VP picks, if former President Donald Trump is next year’s GOP nominee.
That’s according to the latest Rasmussen Reports.
The survey found that 41% of likely U.S. voters believe that, if Biden is the Democratic candidate for president next year, Harris should be his running mate again.
Forty-five percent (45%) think it would be better if Biden chooses someone else as his vice presidential running mate in 2024.
Fourteen percent (14%) are not sure.
Among Democrats, 57% think Harris should be Biden’s running mate again, an opinion shared by only 30% of Republicans and 32% of voters not affiliated with either major party.
If Trump is the 2024 Republican nominee, 16% of likely voters think he should pick former United Nations Ambassador Nikki Haley as his running mate, 12% say DeSantis should be Trump’s VP choice, 11% former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie gets 11% support, and 10% would prefer businessman Vivek Ramaswamy as Trump’s running mate.
Among GOP voters, DeSantis is the leading choice for Trump’s 2024 running mate, with 23% support, followed by Haley (18%), Ramaswamy (13%) and Lake (11%).
