(POLL) Voters still divided over whether J6 Capitol riot was an ‘insurrection’

Three years after supporters of former President Donald Trump stormed the U.S. Capitol, voters are still divided over whether the so-called “J6” riot threatened the nation’s government.

That’s according to the latest Rasmussen Reports.

The survey found that 48% of likely U.S. voters believe the January 6, 2021, Capitol riot represented a threat to American democracy, but 46% don’t think the J6 riot threatened democracy.

Two years ago, 50% saw the Capitol riot as a threat to democracy, while 41% did not. Trump’s supporters stormed the Capitol based on their belief that Joe Biden had not legitimately won the 2020 presidential election.

Thirty-seven percent (37%) of “likely voters” still don’t believe Biden won the election fairly, while 53% say Biden was fairly elected, and another 10% are not sure.

These findings are barely changed from January 2022.

  1. The voters who think it was an insurrection are idiots. And what about all these pro-Hamas protests and occupations of legislative buildings? What the heck is that?

  2. Thomas Joseph Hussman

The government is so inept when it attempts to match their version of truth with actual truth and events. It is repulsive and offensive to the citizen who is touched by such behavior. The recent case involving Noem and Lewandowski is one such example, yet these two populist fools go on and on about their innocent sex crimes, as they deny. I have and I will continue to give voice to the future possibility that the US government and the US Military may require emergency leadership to be installed, if they continue to commit crimes against USA Citizzens, in addition to their malfeasance. Is my opinion tantamount to “insurrection” or “Treason” if I merely state obvious facts about the situation? Need I be followed and photographed because I object to the government’s method of false arrest and its many violations of the US Constitution. Recently I was subjected to numerous crimes committed by a female police officer in Salida Colorado around 4am. This youthful and overzealous Salida Police Officer came upon private property as she ripped apart the US Constitution. What a shame. What a Sham. If I experience dishonorable acts, or criminal violations by government agents, I will continue to speak and write, until my last breath.

  3. Anyone who takes the time to look at the videos and the behavior that day saw that the whole thing stinks of a set up to entrap people and create a narrative that is being exploited to the max. It’s a sickening example of what an unscrupulous swamp our government and its agencies have become.

  4. An insurrection?

People all over the world must be laughing at that ridiculous term for what happened at our Capitol.

Will we ever be able to root out how many FBI informants/antagonists were there and what role they played? Probably not, but I would love to see it happen.

  5. To me it makes little difference what the voters think.
The issue should be what the authors of the 14th Amendment thought.
There has yet to be an insurrection in history where a mob attempted to take over a do-nothing legislative body.
Anyone speaking on Jan 6, have put forth the idea that the certification is an automatic formality. If that is the case, how can there be a disruption of a formality?

  6. The threat to US democracy (I know we are a representative Republic) was the Nov 2020 election that was wrought with abuses if not outright fraud. All of the changes made in various states essentially resulted in the democrat party rigging the outcome. To say stealing the election would not be inaccurate!

Biden has proven to be a liar as he knew the laptop was Hunter’s. The FBI had the laptop in Dec 2019 and also knew it was Hunters as we now know the FBI had ‘cloud’ information of Hunter’s that matched what was on the laptop. The FBI got the laptop from the repair shop and had the contract Hunter signed. If the silence by the FBI was not a cover up and election interference, then the only other conclusion is total incompetence by the nation’s ‘premier’ domestic law agency.
Biden was able to use the ruse that 50 former Intel heads called the laptop “Russian disinformation”. We now know that Biden’s campaign manager, Tony Blinken, got former DIA chief Mike Morrell to scramble those 50 former Intel heads to sign that letter to “help Joe Biden”.
It is a Clintonesque “willing suspension of disbelief” to believe that Biden was unaware of Blinken’s action prior to.
