Republicans have a five-point lead in their battle to maintain their narrow House majority, with less than six months before Election Day.
That’s according to Rasmussen Reports.
The survey finds that if the elections for Congress were held today, 47% of likely voters say they would vote for the Republican candidate, while 42% say they would vote for the Democrat.
Ten percent (10%) say they are not sure.
The GOP’s advantage has narrowed slightly since March, when they led by six points – 47% to 41% – over Democrats.
Two years ago, in May 2022, Republicans had a six-point lead on the generic congressional ballot.
In the final poll before Election Day 2022, Republicans held a five-point lead, and scored a net gain of nine seats to capture a 222-213 House majority.

Too bad there’s no such thing as the “generic ballot.” I don’t even know what that’s supposed to mean. People vote in specific contests, and it does no good if one party wins by a million votes in one district if they lose by a single vote in two other districts.
In the 2016 World Series, the Cleveland Indians scored more runs than the Chicago Cubs, but the Cubs won the series because while scoring fewer runs they won more games. Why? Because the Indians scored a big bunch of runs in one game — lots more runs than they needed to win that game, but not enough runs to win enough of the other games.
It’s really not a difficult concept to understand, yet there are always people that just don’t get it.

I think the only eay to guarantee an accurate election process of vote counting.
1. No drop boxes.
2. Be allowed to use mail in ballots only after registering.
3. Eliminate any an all electronics connected to the internet.
4. Compare votes cast against registered voters, either paper or machine votes.
5. Perhaps allow two days for voting polls opened. ??
